Dwight Carter began his career in the insurance industry in 1969 when he went to work in the Raleigh, NC branch of a major property and casualty company. After nearly 25 years of managing their life department, Dwight opened a brokerage general agency of his own, Financial Security Associates.

As President and CEO, Dwight has developed FSA from a small regional operation into an organization that is now operating in 48 states. He is founder, CEO and CFO of The MV Group, one of the nation's highest producing and well respected national marketing organizations. Dwight is a long standing member of many advisory boards & CEO Councils for major insurance carriers within the brokerage industry.

A long time supporter of Independent Agents, Dwight maintains a 30+ year relationship with his local Independent Insurance Agents organizations. He is involved with the organization through sponsorship of their educational events and by serving as a continuing education and pre-licensing education instructor.

He is a member of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the Raleigh Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Dwight is also an active NAILBA member.

Dwight's reputable tenure in the insurance business is recognized outside our industry as well. He frequently consults with professionals in other fields who require detailed knowledge of life insurance brokerage, and he has been asked to serve as an expert witness during the litigation and trial of cases involving life insurance sold through brokerage distribution.

Dwight was born & raised in rural Ellerbe, North Carolina, but has resided in Cary, NC since 1972. He and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for 39 years. They have 2 sons, Stephen & Phillip, and daughter, Paige who is Vice President of Financial Security Associates. They also have two granddaughters- Sara Jane and Sophia.
